Stranger Danger

Published by homemaker at 2:16 pm under Current Events Edit This

Oh, dear.  Just got through reading about a woman who was attacked, thrown in the back of a car and driven around by three young kidnappers while they shopped with her credit cards.  Luckily, the trio got stopped for a traffic infraction and the woman was set free.

Perhaps because she was 76 years old, the grandmotherly type may earlier have taken pity on a young man trying to sell her a vacuum cleaner.  That was her first mistake.  The salesman obviously “cased the joint” and returned with his friends to take more than the price of a cleaner from her house.

Why, oh why have we not taught the women of this world to never, never, never allow a stranger into their home, no matter what sad reason someone may give for wanting to enter?  Instead of buying a vacuum cleaner, this woman should have been purchasing pepper spray, bolt locks and a stun gun from a catalog.

Badly as I feel for her, I am astonished that a woman of her age has not been thoroughly indoctrinated into the evils that permeate a society,  just waiting for one more victim.  What if her grandchildren were in her care at the time?

I beg everyone reading this, to please educate your children, wives, mothers and grandmothers on the art of protecting themselves and make sure they have the safety devices necessary to live with comfort and security wherever they may happen to be!
