Still the Ice Storm of ‘08
See all those northeast storm photos on the news? Well, that would be us. We’re out here in the New England boonies still running on a generator and gas. I’ve lost track of the days since our state turned into a gorgeous crystal palace and power went out almost everywhere.
Where there is power, folks are lined up at filling stations waiting anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour to gas up. People flocked to the local Pep Boys yesterday, on a generator sale rumor. They too, waited hours for the truck to come in. Some got lucky and excited about being able to go home and get warm.
We are all at the mercy of the weather no matter where we live. This week it’s our turn. How will we fare? Oh, we’re scruffy cranky and only half clean but grateful for the invention of the generator, even if it does need fueling in the middle of the night. It beats hanging out in a shelter. I’ve never been more grateful for my snuggly, warm bed.
I’m going to try and blog just photos right after I publish this. Comments please!
