A Gift Anyone Can Make

Published by homemaker at 1:36 pm under Current Events Edit This

How about a pretty jar filled with the fixings for melt-in-your-mouth Christmas Cookies?  It’s so easy.  Just put 2 cups of flour and one cup of confectioners’ sugar in a glass jar.  Cover tightly with plastic wrap and tie with a great-looking ribbon.  (I like canning jars or antique store finds.)  Attach colored sprinkles in a tiny plastic bag, along with a cookie cutter.

Directions:  Beat together: 1 cup butter, 1 egg and 1 tablespoon of vanilla.  Slowly add the jar contents to the butter and egg mixture.  When dough is thoroughly mixed, make into 4 balls and refrigerate for at least one hour.  Roll dough on lightly floured board and cut into shapes.  Bake at 350 degrees for ten to thirteen minutes (watch closely until edges brown).  Remove to cooling rack.  Sprinkle with decorations.  These cookies are delicious!
